The Bible says that God is perfect in all of His being while man is not perfect. Man has within him a rebelious, self-centered nature which God calls sin. This sin nature separates man from God, not only in this life, but in the life after this one. Thus, the consequence of sin is death, body soul and spirit.
God must see that the consequence is carried out because He is a God of perfect justice. And there's nothing man can do to remove the consequence. But God is also a God of perfect love. He loves us in spite of our sins. And because He loves us, God has taken the initiative to come to the earth and suffer the consequences for us. He did this by supernaturally preparing for himself body in the womb of a virgin. His nane was Jesus of Nazareth. They referred to Him as Emmanuel, which means, God with us.
Jesus lived a perfect life, never committing any sin. But He died as the innocent, substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world. Yet, because He never sinned, death couldn't hold him in the grave. So, after three days and nights, Jesus was ressurected. He appeared to more than 500 people for forty days and then ascended back to Heaven where He now sits on the throne of God as King of kings and Lord of lords. If we will recieve Him into our lives, we will partake of His divine nature and live with Him forever in glory.
